It takes a keen eye to blend clean industrial design with warm interior charm. A brainchild of Hanoi-based Nemo Studio, Deja Vu House is an uber creative living space framed by greenery and filled with natural air and light.

Based on a shophouse blueprint, the original building lacked natural light and ventilation. Introducing a glass atrium, that joins two separate buildings and opens up to the sky, not only resolved this setback but also created a focal point for a small indoor garden.

The interior rises via the base building atrium and spiral stairs, allowing guests to experience the hotel on foot rather than taking the lift. Cutting through all 5 levels, the staircase will take you through the airy, greenery-laden open space that brings a sense of discovery and connection.

Located in the upscale area of Halong City, Deja Vu House parcels its 18 rooms over two buildings just a few metres apart. Cosy yet impeccably bare – an intentional approach that nods to the sedate style of industrial design – each room comes with a small kitchenette and ensuite bathroom. Higher category accommodation also features natural-stone bathtubs and balconies with a soothing view of the sea and Paris-like rooftops. The raw concrete walls softened by hand-drawn floral prints are left to contrast with industrial-style interior fittings based on pipes, carts, hammers, helmets and smaller details related to coal mining.

Instead of maximizing the number of rooms, Nemo Studio saved space for a few recreational areas that promote relaxation and foster the sense of community among the guests.

Upon its launch, the Deja Vu House concept didn’t go unnoticed by the industry. The unique design and ambience yielded accolades from Kohler Bold Design and Ashui Awards as well as the coverage on a Vietnamese national channel VTV3 and a handful of heartwarming reviews from the guests.
